Investor, businessman and Home Depot founder, Ken Langone, was awarded the Citation for the Albert Gallatin Medal. He was honored by New York University as an entrepreneur extraordinaire, esteemed philanthropist and exemplary University citizen. Langone graduated from NYU’s Graduate School of Business in 1960 with an MBA.

Since his graduation from the school in 1960, Langone has certainly not forgotten his beloved graduate school. He has been a contributor to the University for decades. He donated $6.5 million to NYU’s Stern School to endow the Kenneth G. Langone Part-Time Evening MBA Program. He has been a vice-chairman of the Board of Overseers of the Stern School, Chairman of Board of Trustees NYU Med. School, and a member of the Board of Trustees NYU Executive Committee. Langone has found success in the majority of his business endeavors and the ones he has failed at have not discouraged him one bit. He is considered as one of the most generous supporters to the NYU School of Medicine in the school’s 163-year history. It is for this continued and appreciated support and generosity that Mr. Langone has been awarded the Albert Gallatin Medal.
